As Balmoral guides you on this circumnavigation of Iceland, taking in remote waterways and destinations along the way, you’ll experience the scenic wonder of this remarkable country to the full. From Reykjavik, you can tour to the Golden Circle and watch bursting geysers and cascading waterfalls make their mark on the landscape, while Ísafjörður is your gateway to the beautiful westfjords and the bird haven of Vigur Island. After Ísafjörður, enjoy views of Hornstrandir’s majestic mountains and the jagged, tooth-like peaks of Drangaskörð.
At Akureyri, opt to see the splendour of the Godafoss and Dettifoss waterfalls or, for an experience of a lifetime, go whale watching on the lookout for Humpback and Minke whales, dolphins and porpoises in their natural habitat. Finally, after revelling in the beauty of Eyjafjörður, pretty Hrísey and Grimsey, and cruising by Borgarfjordur Eystri – home to a large population of elves, according to local folklore – there’s a visit Seyðisfjörður. Here you you can savour scenes of towering mountains and colourful houses, or perhaps tour to the enchanting Skálanes Nature and Heritage Centre.
