Bernard Magee Charity Seminar Events

Bernard is hosting a series of charity bridge seminars across the UK, completely free of charge to participating bridge clubs. Funds raised at each event are shared between Bernard’s chosen charity, Cancer Research UK, and a charity selected by the host club.
Each event combines an engaging bridge seminar with a session of specially prepared hands, giving players the opportunity to put what they have learned into practice. Bernard will be on hand throughout to offer guidance, share insights and help players get the most from the experience — all while raising money for two worthwhile causes.

What You Can Expect

A typical Bernard Magee Charity Seminar Event combines expert tuition, practical play and plenty of opportunities to enjoy bridge in a relaxed and sociable setting.

The day may begin with refreshments on arrival before moving into a teaching seminar led by Bernard. Combining expert insight, practical advice and his trademark humour, the session is designed to help players develop their understanding of the game, improve their decision-making and explore familiar bridge situations from a fresh perspective.

This is usually followed by the opportunity to play a selection of specially prepared hands, allowing players to put the ideas discussed during the seminar into practice. Bernard will be on hand to offer guidance, discuss key points and share useful tips that players can take into their future games.

Depending on the host club and venue, the event may also include lunch or refreshments, a raffle or fundraising activities, and further social or competitive bridge during the afternoon.

Please note that the exact format and timings of each charity event may vary. Full programmes for confirmed events can be found on the individual event pages listed below.
