Mark started playing bridge when he was 16 after his Aunty introduced him to whist. He enjoys studying the game and enjoys seeing how the game changes over time. Mark has helped in many BMB events including running little bridge with his wife Louise on the cruise ship Balmoral.
Mark is a regular player on BMB Teams events. He is an EBU-qualified Teacher and Director. He plays his bridge at Folkestone bridge club where he directs and runs seminars for the members.
Away from the card table Mark is a retired biology teacher. He is a qualified DofE assessor and the wedding registrar at his local church. He enjoys reading and is writing a novel. He is also an advocate for spreading awareness of pancreatic cancer having been diagnosed with the disease in 2023.
Mark and Louise live in Dover with two birds and lots of tropical fish.
